National Express - Excess Baggage Charge

Just arrived in Heathrow from Sydney and needed to get to Gatwick for my flight home.
Ten ticket machines and only one working!!!

When I did buy at ticket at 19.50GBP I went to the get on the coach only to be told my bag was over 20Kg (only just) so there was an additional 15.00GBP

What a rip off. Wish I'd just booked a taxi and avoided the hassle.

A single excess weight charge should be £10, I assume you have booked a return?

I fail to see the rip off, you were over the specified weight, that is not their fault.

I would have removed items and worn them, 6 t-shirts, 3 pairs of trousers, socks etc...

Then sit close to the driver so he can smell the sweat your bound to produce.

Wifes friend put bath towels in the bin at the airport rather than pay excess baggage charge, Which
would have been very close to what the flights cost.

As the OP says they were only just over the weight limit, I would agree with you ... or they could have put a few items in their hand luggage!
