Thomas Cook refund

In July last year we booked and paid in full with FlyThomasCook to go to Orlando premium economy in November. In August we were informed that on our return flight we would be downgraded to economy and that any money paid for premium would be refunded.
I have now written several letters requesting the refund with no acknowledgment or reply from ThomasCook. Can anyone suggest the next steps i should take to try and get our money back, as it is now over a year since the original payment.
Thanks

1. I haven't been refunded and its been over a year
2. There is nothing wrong with economy it's how i've travelled every other time, but this was a special occassion which was why we splashed out on premiumOP, have you actually called Thomas Cook?
I initially rang them and was advised that I would need to put it in writing to get the refund.0 -
I would call them again, at least to get some feedback from them. If you still get no joy, send a Recorded Delivery letter headed Letter Before Action advising that you intend to issue a small claims action if the amount is not refunded within 14/ 28 days (your choice, I tend to go for 28).Gone ... or have I?0

Was that a scheduled flight? Thomas Cook never used to allow booking of specific seats on charters. They would allow booking of the extra leg room seats and also to guarantee seats together for those travelling together but wouldnt allow to book specific seats.
Of course on scheduled flights you could go in through worldspan and book seats by row/number direct in the airlines database.
Where did you book it through? Thomas Cook Direct (call centre/website) or Thomas Cook Retail? You keep using that word. I do not think it means what you think it means - Inigo Montoya, The Princess Bride0
