Nintendo WII pre order only £180

This is the reply I recieved from PCWORLD to my e-mail yesterday.
I pre-ordered on the 2nd of November so it sounds quite hopeful.
Some suppliers do seem to have more of an exact idea of stock levels though, from what i have read on other forums, Game in particular now know their individual store allocations.

"Thank you for your email.

We cannot currently advise on specific delivery dates for Nintendo Wii
orders.

However, based on current information, we are confident that orders placed
before 6th November 2006 will be fulfilled prior to Christmas.

Please be aware however that this cannot be guaranteed, as stock allocation
is subject to change by the manufacturer.

I got a different response from PC World as follows:

"As for your query on the delivery date for the Nintendo Wii, the
information we can only provide will be the release date that we got from
our supplier which is the 08.12.06. And we can only try our best to
despatch all the orders on the following day of when the actual stocks come
in to our warehouse. Therefore sorry to inform you that we cannot give you
a specific date for the delivery but you will receive an email from us on
the day before the despatch of the order telling you the parcel number and
the courier company responsible for the delivery. Thus you can track and
get updates on the delivery of the parcel youself."

I pre-ordered on 11 october so maybe this is why the information is different. At least this is telling me something this time and sounds as if it should not be too long after release date, fingers crossed.

Hi all i would just like to say that anyone who has ordered from woolworths should know that they have debited my card today, which i have to be honest i was not expecting as my pre-order receipt said it would be debited when the item is ready for despatch.
Fortunately its not a problem for me as i had the money there and i am relieved that they have taken the money as im now convinced i shall be getting it for the 8th.
The only explanation i can think is that they have the units in now and they are indeed ready for despatch (to my local store in my case).
I do hope nobody has been caught out by this as i would of had it not been the end of the month yesterday.

FWIW - My Woolworths pre-order has changed status today. The Console has moved to Ready To Bill status but the 2 Cables (Component and RGB) Wii Play and Nunchuk are still in Back-Order / Pre-Release status

Mine says I have been billed and it is ready for despatch within the next 24 - 48 hours. (this is my order with Woolies placed on 21st Nov) Nice if it happens, but I doubt it!

I went into game today and they said I was number 3 on list and can pick up on dec 8th at 8.00am. They also are taking pre orders for accessories and games. I have reserved Zelda, COD3, NFS Carbon and the play pack.

Have booked day off work too

This is good news.
I am quite excited about getting it as my son has absolutely no idea and I just can't wait to see his face when he opens it on Christmas morning.

I have told no one else either so my daughter and my sister will also be surprised when he opens it!

i got this from currys today:

Dear Mr XXXXXX

Thank you for your email dated 28 November 2006.

We should be getting stock to us on the release date then your order will
be processed.
Delivery of the item will take up to 5 - 7 working days for delivery which
you will get a email confirmation.
