window, want to open but not let flies in, and need a curtain solution

Options
hi
i have a huge window in my property (living room)
the sun shines on this side, so the room is extremely hot (compared to the other side of property (bedroom)

i cant afford to buy any products, that would make the room temp colder, or are there any cheap ones?

also the kitchen is in the living room (hot room), so oven makes it hotter.

the window opens in multiple ways, from top a little, from side fully.

2 problems
1) the shutter does not work in harmony with window, so ive taken it off, and just hung a piece of cloth to cover window.

2) when window open, flies/wasps/spider come into property. And im terrified of these things.

Any suggestions?

Like now there was a wasp, i sprayed it out.
and have closed the window. But its so damn hot in here. With computers on, and when i make some food...

I basically would like to have window open a fair bit, but with a kind of cover to stop flies coming in....do these exist?

And some kind of cover/curtain that is easily opened closed, but doesnt require messing about with fixtures and fittings, as this is rented apartment.

If a pic would help, ill post.

Thankyou.

Putting in a sarcastic comment only 16 minutes after opening a new thread is hardly likely to generate many helpful replies.

Same comment applies, even if my time calculation was incorrect.

    sarcastic? i was being genuine.

tried covering the gap with a sheet last night, with selotape. kept falling off.

the net thing, not sure if it will work easily, the window opens inward, not outward.
  • how can i make the temperature of the room colder?

what is the cheapest solution? the room is too hot to be in.

Either burn a citronella candle on the windowsill or dab citronella essential oil around the window frame. Insects hate the smell of it and will stay away.
Here I go again on my own....

I am guessing a reply inbetween has been deleted? probably deemed to be an advert against the rules.

You need a flyscreen. Not got time to google about for it for you, but they use them on every house in Australia.
