Good value car?
OK, don't usually post in here but in the market for a new (used) car so...
I've seen a BMW 318i SE 53 plate, mint condition in and out, 102k on the clock. Full service history.
£4000.
To anyone a bit more clued up does this seem good value? I'll put a grand away in case of any problems, considering its age and mileage.

Frankly its just OK price wise. Good colour and good compromise model for everyday use, but if you were looking for another i'm sure leather interior would be high on your list too.0

pretty average price for a basic model, personally I would rather have a older better model 330/325/323/328 etc0

Does it definetly have to be a Beemer? As you dont tend to find 'value per £' in these cars, unless you go for an older one with all the toys which has been really well looked after. If you are on a budget and need a well specced car you cant beat ex-Fleet cars, usually serviced to the book, and yes they may have been driven hard but chances are the important bits like engine sensors, gearboxes/clutches, head gaskets whatever have already gone and been done by the previous owner

The BMW 3 series of that era were worse than the Ford Mondeo. Overpriced for what they were. The newer ones redress the balance but for something in the early "naughties", then unless you want one I'd be looking elsewhere and getting more for your money.0
