Not having your P45 isnt the end of the world. If you dont get it before you start your new job then you just complete a P46.
Wage slips, presumably you agreed with what went into your bank when it did so I really would stop stressing about it.
If they really have or even just say that they have you really cant do anything about it.
You really wouldnt believe how much stuff gets lost or stolen in the post.
Try one more time with a recorded delivery letter then just move on if it comes to nothing.make the most of it, we are only here for the weekend.
and we will never, ever return.0 -
Problem is I need these details to claim back the tax at the end of the year (few hundred £), and i'm going back to being a student. I'm not too bothered about the P45 but I would definitely want the pay slip. I left on the day I got paid and left before I checked the amount.0

I'm quite calm :P it's not the end of the world.
I just copied this straight from somewhere on the internet. Thought perhaps this would scare them into action.
They're already deliberately being as difficult as possible, cause that's their nature. The Acas people told me to write a letter requesting it, and then if they don't just call them again and force them to send me these articles through a tribunal (not sure what that involves, but I don't think it costs anything and I've got a couple of months to kill before I start something new in October.
You've got three months from the time that they failed to give you your payslip to the time you get your claim in to an ET.
The draft letter you found on the internet did sound as though it had been cobbled together somewhat.
I asked about how you had contacted them because the letter mentioned previous contacts but didn't say how. I thought you should indicate that in the letter you eventually send.0 -
You dont need your payslips either to claim tax at the end of the year.
You send in your P60 which will have your earning on it, your ex employer will have
sent a copy of your P45 to the tax office. (they cant lie about that one) These are done
electronically now usually.
You only need your P60 to apply for a refund. HMRC will know exactly how much you have earned during
the tax year so stop worrying about it.make the most of it, we are only here for the weekend.

You don't get a P60 if you left before the end of a tax year as you get a P45 instead. But employer still has to fill P11 details with HMRC at the end of the tax year0 -
You will get the P60 from the employer you are working for at the week ending 4th April 2011.
!!!!!! i cant believe that so many people in Britain are so ignorant of the rules of Tax and ni, holidays etc.
These people (government) are taking your hard earned money and you just let them without doing some research, its
not rocket science to find out why tax codes exist, what they do, why money is taken from your salary.
Is it apathy or just complete trust that they know what they are doing so yu just let them take whateve they want out
of your hard earned wages.
Sorry, just the 1 glass of white sets me off on a rant.make the most of it, we are only here for the weekend.

Hehe It's aright I just had a bottle

I know how to calculate tax, but that's partly why I want to see my payslip. Would be a lot happier knowing what money went where etc and why there's some discrepancy.
Basically this company I worked for is small and has only 2 managers who think they can get away with anything. They lie, treat staff like Sh*t and are generally manipulative and scheming - I've watched them on numerous occasions. I'm sure I could sort out tax without my P45 and payslip, but I'd be a lot happier getting these of them. I'm not going to let them bully me0 -

Sorry, I read your post that the OP would get a P60 from his ex-employer, rather than the employer he was at at the end of the current tax year.
I won't bother posting in this section of the board again due to your rant.0 -
How about simply:
LETTER BEFORE ACTION
Despite several reminders, I have not yet received copies of my wage slips or P45. You are therefore in breach of The Employment Rights Act 1996.
You now have 14 (fourteen) days in which to provide me with the aforementioned documents.
If the documents are not received then I reserve the right instruct proceedings against you without further notice. In the event of a judgement against you, you will be liable for any and all costs incurred.
Yours etc.0
