We just received our Water bill this week and for a change actually read the accompanying notes regarding how bills are calculated.
Whilst it wouldnt be of great benefit to ourselves there may be ways you can reduuce your bill, apart from using less water, if you are in receipt of various benefits.
The savings aren't tremendous but Anglian Water and presumably other utilities do provide some assistance so might be worth looking at your next bill to see if you qualify.

If your rain-water run-off from the roof goes into a soakaway and not into the drainage system you can claim a discount for that.
Also it is possible to get a discount for paying by monthly direct debit.Ær ic wisdom funde, ær wearð ic eald.

I think this would depend on your water suplier, we don't, so I pay 6 monthlyEight out of ten owners who expressed a preference said their cats preferred other peoples gardens0 -
We moved into a bungalow about 7 months ago, as this is in a band A, our water rates were £68.50 per calendar month, I queried this with the water board, and I was told that the only way I could reduce the costs was to fit a water meter, I asked for one to be fitted.
4 months ago the meter was finally fitted and our bills started coming through, our monthly bills now are £29.50 one heck of a saving, and we havent changed any thing that we do. If there are more bedrooms in the house than people it is worth getting a water meter. It is annoying when a house with 7 or 8 people in pay the same as a house with only 2 people.0 -
I think most water companies have a water meter calculator on their website which enables people to calculate what the monthly metered cost would be..................
....I'm smiling because I have no idea what's going on ...:)

That is a good saving!
However, are you sure you are in band A? I thought that was the lowest band?
We are in the highest band up here (Scotland) and pay about £900 per year for water and sewage.
Unfortunately we cannot get a meter.0 -
Anglian Water do a SOLow tariff. Worth looking into.0
