If they are family members it should not be a problem, the investigator will probably ask questions about this and there is a chance that he may ask to see utility bills such as electricity. He will also ask questions about the relationship to ensure they are family members, he ma also ask questions about how much they contribute.
Providing your father lives there and they are family members it should not be a problem.
Here is the definition MMA use in some of their policies "family
Your:
• Spouse or domestic partner
• Children (including adopted and foster children)
• Relatives who normally live with you"
http://www.mma-insurance.com/a/pdf/Policy_Wording.pdf (Page 3)
They will probably ask questions to find out whether they normally live with your father, although family members staying as temporary guests eg at Christmas etc would not be a problem.
As I said before if it as you have confirmed and you all tell the truth it should not be a problem, do not be tempted to lie as they are good at finding these out.
He will probably have checked the electoral register to see if your father is on the register and if any of the family are, so may raise questions about this. If your father is not it is not neccessarily a problem unless he is on the register at another address which may result in more questions.0 -
we had a fire in our house when we were in france on holiday, Cunningham Lindsey sent forensic experts and investigators to see us, we would have had trouble setting fire to our house when we were two days travel away but throughout we were treated with suspicion and requestioned; eventually they had to admit we had a genuine claim. We had been insured with the same company for thirty years with one previous claim, the fire was in june and our house is not fit to live in yet; pester your loss adjuster.0

It's common for Insurers to appoint forensic fire investigators for fire claims over a certain value.
They're job is not only to check that you have not started the fire yourself, but also to see if it was started by another cause. For instance it might have been caused by a faulty electrical appliance and give them them the chance to recover the claim costs from the manufacturer.0
