I fly to Cyprus in Sunday, I did apply for Nationwide account, however I dont have my pin number yet. Let hope it arrives tommorow.

If not I have the following options;

1, Travellers cheques
2, draw from my Natwest current account
3, draw from my Lloyds TSB current account
4, draw from the wifes HSBC current account

Thanks in advance and any other ideas welcome

  • I assume you mean a NW Current Account!

If you haven't deposited any money into the account you'll be charged interest if you do receive that PIN and start using it!!

If it's a CC, perhaps you'll be able to sign for goods if you show your passport!!
  • Your best bet is to buy online via travelex via a debit card and collect at airport.
Todays rate is 0.82 per UK £.
They have a price guarantee. Thomas Exchange beats this rate 0.835 but you have to collect in person.
You can however use them to claim cashback from travelex.
Below is an email I sent to claim cashback from travelex on a recent Euro transaction.
If you want, copy and edit it to suit your needs
BTW unless your card provider charges less than 1.5% this will not be beaten

    Amount £501.09 @ 1.4269 = €715

I have discovered http://www.thomasexchangeglobal.co.uk/ rate for same
amount was £1 = €1.45 which would have given me €726.58

Could you please refund the difference OR add it on at collection please

    yours sincerely
