Help!! Problem with car I just bought
Hi
I recently bought a Citroen C5 from a second hand car dealer close by. Its a Y reg and we paid £1,800 for it and they gave us a 3 month warrenty with it.
It's been doing something very odd in that the climate control blows cold air out on the drivers side, but on the passengers side it blows out hot air. I took it back to the garage we bought it off and they replaced the exhaust, beacause it was misfiring too, but couldnt find anything wrong with the air con.
Its still doing it now and I called a local Citroen dealer to ask their opinion. They said that 99% its the air con unit and that the dash board will have to come out which is a big job, costs in the region of £2,500!!!!!!
I know if I take it back to the garage I bought it off they will try and wriggle out of doing the work. I was just wondering where I stand with regards to insisting the work is done or getting our money back?
Any advice on our next steps would be great
Thanks

Cant be the aircon unit - they either work or dont! Sounds like one of the flaps that control the air flow is bust.0

I have just called and spoken to the garage we bought it off. He is not willing to fix the car at all or even look at it. I have spoken to Consumer Rights telephone service and they say write two letters to him if no reply take to small claims court.
Any advice from anyone?0 -
Its an old y reg, The aircon works. So you might be onto a losing battle in court.
Probably just a flap thats stuck or needs resetting.

My guess the warranty would be major mechanicals only.Censorship Reigns Supreme in Troll City...0
