Is this a way to improve credit history?

Guys,

My credit history isn`t ideal, needs huge improvement. If I take small few hundred loan on short term and pay it back on time, will they put that on my credit file? Or reporting to credit agencies applies just on long term loans?

Cheers :)

Why not use a credit card where you can make purchases and repay it incurring zero interest??

    A Mobile phone contract perhaps?

Have you thought about how much short term loans cost??

I am already doing that - I have Vanquis bank VISA card - paying off fully every month. Tried getting Capital ONE - refused. Also I have three prepaid Master cards with credit builder active.
Mobile contract is present as well - sim only, won`t give me phone.

Yes I know, but I`m ready to spend some money just for sake of better credit history. I`m willing to take mortgage, so in years time I need to improve my credit history.

From previous threads, they don't show unless you don't pay!!

Sorry - meant to say, try those two as well, and just do the little purchase then pay it off plan to show willing!

just stick to using the CC each month, pay in full and don't default on anything
your credit rating will then improve
    getting a loan won't help

you may want to contact the credit agency to ask them to delete the default over 6 years old.

I was under the impression the defaults (2003) will be removed in 6 years and just show an o/s blalance with the creditor until that hit 6 years? Is this not the case?
