Having checked my credit card there is a purchase i made for just under £60 over 3weeks ago and still not showing on my statement or as a debit. Does anyone know how long credit card company (MBNA) has to collect the transaction or do I have a case not to pay if its not charged tomy account by a certain time? TY

I bought my sons Christening outfit, put it on the card and it took about 3 months, this was a good 10 years ago and now with chip and pin I would expect it to be a lot quicker- sorry I can't be of any more help.0

MBNA does not ‘collect’ the money, the merchant claims it.
Sometimes (for whatever reasons) there are delays in claiming it. The transaction will go through once the merchant claims it. You’ve got the goods, you owe the money for up to six years. Presuming the money hasn’t been paid, in five years and forty-nine weeks you can legally claim that you do not owe that particular merchant any money.
Prepare yourself for a long wait!0 -

The vendor legally has six years(!) to request payment. As far as I remember, Visa may let them do it easily for about six months.
Watch out, it's still not your money, you can indeed expect the transaction to show up any time, even if in some cases you can get "lucky".
If it was an electronic transaction that you have the receipt for, it will likely show up before the quarter ends, when they reconcile the payments, but certainly before six months. If there was anything funny (they needed to record card details instead of authorising), it has a higher chance of being misplaced for longer or even completely.Enjoy the silence...0
