hi guys
wondered if theres a way to check if the appartment im renting is the reason im getting denied credit.
i know they had some trouble from the previous tenants (drug dealing and other naughtiness) and wondered if they are still upto no good by using this address in their dodgey dealings....
is there a way to see if the address is on a "blacklist" (if such a thing exists)
thank you
btw... i didnt know about the previous tenants before i took on the appartment. dont think my landlady was good in keeping something like that a secret imo... tut tut

The address would not taken into consideration! :j
The only way previous occupants would have an effect on your credit file would be if they had any joint accounts with you or were using your details fraudulently.0 -

no? why do i keep getting asked to "supply extra identification to verify my identity and address"... when i applied to experian like everyone else it would allow me to view it online. i had to send off all my documents..
i ALWAYS have to go that bit further to prove who i am... then i get rejected.
when i tried to get my new bank account at barclays my account mananger had a hell of a time to get my application pushed thru (he knew me so he knew i wasnt up to no good). he eventually go it done, i then tried to apply for a share trading account on my new barc premier acc but it got denied because it "need more eveidence to verify my identity.."
couldnt be bothered with all that. already got a trading account so just left it.
this is a major stress.. NOT KNOWING hwats wrong is the biggest downer. i just wish i knew what the problem was so i could fix it.
...and im the "careful one" of the family.. everyone else has ccj's, baliffes calling and everything... ive never had any of that and always pay on time.. but im the one not able to get credit..0 -
Do you live in a flat? Sometimes things like that cause problems with the address that credit is matched up to, and you can end up with numerous variations of the same address. That can cause problems.
PS I gave up trying to get my credit file online because it was rubbish especially with Equifax. We are better off doing it by post I think.0 -

Well when I was signed up to Credit Expert (Experian) it only showed a couple of my accounts. I gave them a ring and the lady found loads of variations of my address, because they had a flat number and a property number in various combinations. When she linked them all together more accounts showed up on my report. Might be this?0

hmmmm maybe ive got some not good things on a report set to another mispelt address... how would i go about finding out? calling them adn saying what, can you search all listings similar to my address to see if anything looks like it could belong to me..?Well when I was signed up to Credit Expert (Experian) it only showed a couple of my accounts. When I rang Experian to cancel she asked if there was anything missing from my file, I said yes and she found variations of my address right away so it must be really easy for them to link the addresses up.0

hmm interesting.. ill give them a call when i get the report. When I rang Experian to cancel she asked if there was anything missing from my file, I said yes and she found variations of my address right away so it must be really easy for them to link the addresses up.
what, if anythign, different appeared in the experian report in comparison to the online reports youve seen?0 -
This was all online. My credit card etc. didn't appear on the report because the address Experian had was slightly different to the one I had applied for credit with.
So the only difference was more accounts showed up. So you might either look like you have no credit history when you do, or like you say there might be a problem hidden somewhere.0 -
