Car Insurance won't cover me for...

About 3 years ago I got pulled over driving a friends car for a spot check.
Long story short it turns out my Insurance didn't cover me 3rd party on other vehicles until i was 25 (i was 23 at the time)
Move forward to now
Since that conviction I have never had another motoring conviction.
When I took out new insurance for my new car I made sure that I had 3rd party cover on other vehicles (didn't want to get caught out again)
When I actually read my policy it made no mention to this so i rang them up and they said we won't cover you because I work in the motor trade.
I work in the motor trade as a trainee warranty advisor.
Can i make them cover me or do i have to do what they say?

You can't "make" them - unless they have broken an agreement over this. How did you "make sure" you were covered when you took out the policy?0

you cant make them, if its an exclusion not much you can do except change provider0
