Help - DVD MP3's to Computer?

Could anyone help or advise me. I have a DVD with MP3 files on (it's an audio book) and I want to be able to transfer it to my MP3 player.
I thought I could copy it to my computer and then transfer to my MP3 player (a Sansa Clip) as I've done in the past with my CD's but I can't.
It will play fine on my computer but I cannot find how to copy to my computer and then transfer to my Sansa Clip. Normally I just add to the library in Windows Media Player but that does not work for the DVD?
Maybe it's not possible but I've spent a couple of hours trying to figure it out all to no avail and before giving up I thought I'd ask and see if anyone can help?

Could you provide a short review of what you've tried so far, so that if we say "Do X, then Y" we don't just get told that you've tried that already....?0 -

Sorry for the delay but I've had a family emergency, will have to leave it for now and try again when I've a bit more time and a clearer head!

I've now managed to transfer the DVD to my computer and then to my Sansa Clip, not quite sure how but it's worked in the end!
