loans.co.uk

I am a new member but have been reading this forum for a long time. I sent off my 1st ppi claim to A & L 10 days ago and am still waiting to hear from them. Whilst looking for my loan documentation i came across my loan documents for another loan arranged by loans .co.uk. To cut a long story short here are the details.

Loan arranged by loans.co.uk June 2005.

Loan company G E Money.

Amount of loan £53k. This included approx £8600 ppi.

This was repayable over the 20 years of the loan term but the actual policy cover was only for 5 years so has now expired.

My husband and i would have had adequate protection with work benefits and life insurance policies. I do remember getting a letter from loans,co,uk asking if i thought the policy had been missold(or something along those lines) abount a year after it had been sold but my mother was gravely ill at the time and i didnt do anything about it and just filed the letter away. Do you think that i would have a misselling claim?

May i add that the help on this forum is amazing. The knowledge that you people have is fantastic.

Thank you .:T

    Hi there & welcome

The best of luck with the A&L reclaim, please keep us posted.

Loans.co.uk were one of those companies fined for mis selling ppi as from Jan 2005, so its possible you do have a good case here, and of course it does not matter if the loan is settled or active.

I would therefore give it a go on the reclaiming, and if they get back to you and ask you why you did not pursue this when asked, tell them due to the reasons stated.
You should succeed in this, good luck.;)

    Hi

Thank you for your speedy reply. I think I will sit down this weekend and gather all my loans.co and ge money info and fill in the questionaire.

The A & L loan was paid off in late 2005. Even though it was a joint loan PPI cover was only for my husband(so i realised later). As i am a hoarder i still had loan documentation. PPI was approx 3600 on top of a loan of 17k and i remember the sales person at the time i took out the loan told me that due to the size of the loan we would need to take out ppi. So fingers crossed. Its all due to your help that i was able to fill out the questionare etc. I will keep you posted re this and will probably need some help regarding the loans.co.uk claim.

    Many thanks again.

Thank you. The help from here is excellent and i'm planning on sitting down this weekend and filling out the forms. £8600 is a lot of money for something that we never needed in the 1st place, has now expired and will still be paying for the remainder of the loan term. Will keep you all posted.

I submitted a claim to loans.co.uk towards the end of August. They were pretty quick in replying. Received a letter dated 17 September saying that they would refund full amount of ppi and associated interest on a goodwill basis. This was their final offer and they asked for time so that they could contact GE money and insurance company in order for them to calculate a settlement figure.Didn't hear anytning for about a month so emailed for an update and a lady called Sue Gibson at Bank of America replied saying that they had received all info required and I should have a settlement figure in approx 4 weeks. This time is practically up now and as yet I have heard nothing. Should I email them again? I don't like to be a nuisance but we could really be doing with this extra money - especially coming up to Xmas. Thanks again for all your help.

Hi there, this sounds like a front loaded policy, you have ppi put on at the start, ppi only lasts 5 years but you still pay it back over the term of the loan with interest.Get a claim in and good luck x.
