birmingham airport parking

i've just booked my parking at Birmingham airport for my holiday. The flight leaves on a friday at 2100 hrs and i've booked the parking for 3 hours before (1800 hrs). I'm a little nervous about driving to birmigham airport for the first time, especially in rush hour traffic, so thought i would leave myself lots of traffic jam and getting lost time. But if all goes smoothly and i get their early will they let me in? or is their somewhere we can go while waiting?

This is probably a silly question, but i've read through the website and their is no advice on this. i'm sure someone on here can give me some advice on the topic.

Thanks in advance.

if you are really early then you cannot check in for flight if not open, but you can go in airport there are eating and sitting down places in the departures end of terminal upstairs for you to wait.
places like a spoons, boots,BK etc are all upstairs in the main terminal.

where are you driving from to get to BHX?

You can go in the car park if you arrive early no problem, but your paid time in the car park will start then. Depending on whether they operate a 24 hours elapsed system or a calendar day one it could tip you into extra charges at the end if you are unlucky with timing. OTH they could waive them anyway

    Are you onsite or offsite?

i'm driving from stafford to birmingham airport so not far, but i'm not a confident driver and have never driven to birmingham airport before so i'm quite nervous. Was going to set off early and was hoping their would be somewhere nearby to the longstay car park that we could park up and sit and have a drink if we arrived early.

I have been advised by afew people to pay and use the M6 toll road to make sure that i avoid rush hour traffic, so may do that.

I'm using onsite parking, longstay carpark 1. It says its a ten minute walk to check-in on the website.
