what is a complementary pass?

I got my results a while ago, and for one of my modules i have recieved a complementary pass, can someone explain what this is please?

I mean i'm not really fussed, at the end of the day i've got my degree, but i was just wondering

  • My uni handbook describes it as a fail that was close (so if you needed 40% to pass, you might have got 36%) and they've taken your overall performance into consideration and passed you.

Are you sure you don't mean a compensatory pass?
    Gone ... or have I?
  • Hmmm i dunno how they could have got an overall then? Cause for that module there only was one piece of coursework.

Like i said i'm not fussed, just cause i heard some people in my class talking and saying they got 51 etc, but mines didn't have a % beside the module course.

I passed my first year at uni, and got a degree so i'm happy!
