Worried about the future - Retirement

There is yet another article on the BBC about saving for retirement. This one is titled 'Britons 'want £30,000 pension''. I have no debt apart from a mortgage that we're just about to get (complete on the 27th), a little bit of rainy day savings and some investments. I also pay into a pension through work, which amounts to about 10% of my salary but these articles still really worry me so much.
The question is do we throw at much money as possible at the mortgage (we already plan to overpay by £350 a month) OR do we save in another way for our retirement?
Really sorry if this is totally not relevant to this board.
