Mortgage Protection and Guaranteed Critical Illness cover for ex Bone Marrow patient

My son and daughter have bought a flat with a £92,000 mortgage last month and we enquired about Mortgage Protection and Guaranteed Critical Illness cover for them both.
We was quoted £20 a month which we thought was OK.
My Daughter had a Bone Marrow transplant when she was 10 for an immune deficiency ,(she is now 24) working fulltime and perfectly well since.
Am I thinking that an increase of 100% to £40 a month for the £92,000 mortgage because of my daughers Bone Marrow Transplant is a bit over the top?
All they have done is kill off her own marrow and given marrow from a healthy matched person.
Or is that about the norm?

Who gave them the quote? An IFA will have access to the whole of market while a bank/building society may just recommend its own product.I am a Financial Adviser specialising in Mortgages, Protection, Health and Medical Insurance. It was Lifesearch who got the quote from Axa.
My son was OK but they asked details from my daughters consultant who said she was perfectly well since the Bone Marrow 14 years ago but still increased it from £20 to £40 a month.
I told them to send me the details as to why they reached that decision but havent received it yet0
