Property with conversion advice please

Options
We opted for a valuation and not a homebuyers survey on the property we are buying (converted bungalow offer accepted at 202K), the report came back saying we should have the electrics checked and also the flat roof on the upstairs conversion.

We are not going to have these checked and have written to our solictor saying so and also admitting that we would be liable should there be any problems when we have completed.

Our solicitor is now contacting our vendors solicitor regarding the conversion and the legalities or it, (conversion wasn't done by our vendor she has been living there 9 years) should there be any problems with it???
House purchase completed 6th December whole process took 4 months.

Hang in there everyone it is worth it

It might have needed building control sign-off and they didn't get it. Or it might have needed planning permission and they didn't get it.

If they didn't, it's unlikely that either planning or building control will take any action after such a period of time. For planning, they are time-barred after 4 years anyway.

Suggest you wait for the outcome and if there's a problem, post back with precise details.

    Thanks debt free chick,

I am concerned BUT if our vendor brought the proprty 9 years ago i would have thought these things would have been highlighted during her purchse,

    Fingers crossed anyway
