Using Personal Mobile for Business

I am thinking of getting a mobile phone for my small business.
I wondered what is stopping me from getting a personal mobile phone account and using it for business. would it still be VAT deductable? I wont make a huge amount of calls on it but it seems far cheap than getting a business account.
I already have one personal phone but need another one just to differentiate between personal and business calls.
Thanks

I think you will have to show they are work calls, and only the calls made care claimable, not the entire bill."See you on the Other Side"0

Why not get yourself a business contract?
Put it under the company name, all you would need is a business card, purchase order and VAT reg documentation.Treat others as you would like to be treated :A0 -
We got a deal for my OH and business partner with 02 (who approached us by the way) with 250 minutes free a month for £15 (incl VAT) a month. I believe texts are the normal rate (12p each?) but as he doesn't text that wasn't an issue. This is better than the deal we were getting before which was £19 something inc VAT for 100 minutes free calls and so many texts (can't remember how many). With my mobile which is on PAYG I put the top ups through our books. I only tend to use it quite rarely. It's more for people getting hold of me. Might be worth looking at the business tariffs.0

If you are on contract with Orange you can have a second line, effectively giving you two lines on one phone. You can then use one for personal calls and one for business. You can even have seperate voice mail accounts, so when you are out of working hours your business number could go on to vocie mail, whereas your personal line could still ring. The only draw back is you can only text from one number.Don't lie, thieve, cheat or steal. The Government do not like the competition.

I'm sorry, I don't apologise. That's just the way I am. Homer (Simpson)0 -
Why not get the 12 month free line rental deals & any calls over your allowance can be put through as a business expense? 02 are offering 400 mins anytime/any network + 100 texts free via cashback. Inc phone & line rental.
