Yes Loans...Con
Options
Yes Loans contacted me after getting my details from another loan brokerage firm. I spent 10 minutes with the female going through my details and finalily she asked me to pay a £59 admin fee. As I was in fromt of my laptop at the time I quickly keyed in their web address and then quite hapily told the female that I would not be making a payment as their website clearley states on its front page that they, and I quote, "do not take an upfront fee".
The female wriggled about a bit and then said that it was okay and it could be sorted out a t a later date. Great I thought.
On to the next person, a male who introduced himself as the credit file asseser and underwritter. Okay I thought, this should be good!
20 minutes later and we had gone through my credit file. I had answered all of the questions with honesty and had explained the reason for my poor credit score was my lack of time on the electural roll and too many searches within the last year. I have no CCJS, No Iva, no defaults.
The malle then asked me to hold while he contacted his lender. I was on hold for a further 5 minutes when he came back and said that one of their lenders had authorised the loan. He said that the next thing that would happen would be that I would recieve paperwork directly from them (the lender) and I should sign and send back via recorded delivery. I would have all of the paperwork in two working days.
I asked who the lender was, he couldnt tell me. Alarm bells right?
7 Days later and the only paperwork I have recieved is a form from YES loans asking me for £59.
I have recieved 4 calls from different brokers who had gotten my information from YES laons, but guess what, they all wanted an admin fee as well!
In the last week I have spent a grand total of 3 hours on hold to YES loans and still havent gotten to speak to anyone.
The following companies need to be avaoide at all costs:
YES Loans
Unsecured loan company
Wentworth Direct
DO NOT PAY AN ADMIN FEE UPFRONT TO ANYONE FOR A LOAN.

LOL, I really hope you didn't give these clowns your bank details at any point? if you did, expect the "admin" fee to go anyway.
And I have to ask, why waste three hours on phone calls to a company that you yourself have worked out are a bunch of cheating, low lying scum?
I'm glad you saw through part of their scheme but DO NOT waste any more time and money phoning these people."We want the finest wines available to humanity, we want them here, and we want them now!"0 -
hey all, i applied for a loan with YES, paid the £ 69.50 fee and couldnt get hold of them for over a week.
i foned the Financial Ombudsman Service - they said to write to Yes asking for a refund, the FOS also wrote to them and 9 days later I got a cheque for the full £ 69.50 back from YES
but, the FOS said they have huge problems with loan brokers and to never pay an upfront fee.
so, write to YES, gat the FOS to do so, dont give up on getting your money back , and remember,
never ever ever ever use YES LOANS0 -
this has been covered a million times.
but yes, you are right, dont pay a fee upfront to a broker.0 -

I don't know if you are serious about this but what are you taking them to court for? Have you cancelled your contract and are progressing a claim under The Financial Services (Distance Marketing) Regulations 2004 or under Section 155 of the Consumer Credit Act? A claim under either of these won't require any other information and putting hearsay in front of a judge may not help.
If you seriously require details about Yes Loans (and you won't require those for a simple refund under one of the above) and can prove you have an ACTIVE court case against them you can go to the OFT and make a request under the Freedom of Information Act to get the information you want which is far more likely to be acceptable to a judge.0 -
Just what we needed - another Yes Loans thread. Can we also have some about how insurance fees are unfair, Ryanair are horrible, blah blah blah0
