Honda Jazz 1.4 - Opinions please?

Hi

I am looking to buy a small(ish) car for upto £6000 and have always quite liked the honda jazz. Have driven a few recently and we were quite happy with how they drive etc.

I have read up on internet / forums and they seem to generally get good reviews from owners apart from the odd gearbox problem and slightly hard ride.

Just wondering if anyone can offer any advice / experiences of them (good or bad) or would recommend better alternatives?

thanks

My mother got one from new about 4 years ago, still got it and loves it. Steering and pedals are a little light for me, but ideal for her. Best car she has ever had she says.

A workmate tells me he was very impressed how well the back seats fold forming an even surface for transporting stuff.

    Had to reply to this!
We bought a 1.4 05 reg Jazz in June after my parents reccommended them to us. We had a Y reg 206 that was on it's last legs and had a budget of about 5/5.5k. We bought a Jazz and it is the best car we've ever had! Good on fuel, comfy on long journeys (recently did a 400mile round trip and it was lovely) and the boot space is great. The back seats fold flat or you can fold the seat part up to get things in the back seats too. All I can say is that we went to IKEA recently and had no worries!

    Best car ever!#
My one is 1.4, 05 plate automatic and has parking sensors.
On the back is a lot of space ( i fit 3 kids, one is a1y.old so car seat needed) and in front comfy as well as i am about 5.5 ft.
Good value for money and depreciate slow!

I have been looking at the jazz myself when its time for me to change car. Read up on reviews it has a firm ride thats the complain from owners/reviewers, I'm leaning to the Yaris diesel atm
  • I did a 2,500 mile return trip from Cambridge to Corsica in my 1.4 CVT this summer. Not a single problem, and the auto box was superb on the Corsican mountain roads. The previous year we took the car to the Loire valley. We were loaded with a month's luggage plus 2 bikes on the back but the Jazz never missed a beat. My only regret is that the CVT gearbox has been discontinued on the new model as mine is coming up to 3 years, which is when I normally change. As it is I'll be keeping the one I've got.
