No ,i wont go to college ,i will look after my own kids as no help is put in place ,dont know why i have i would have to work 16 hours a week ,when i would be going to college full time !!
seems like you want your cake and eat it!!!
loads of people at college full time hold down a job as well and do a damn site more than 16 hours a week.
You really are coming across as a grasping scrounger...0 -
i just think if my mum is prepared to look after them full time she should get paid !!
Oh I agree - your mum should be paid to look after your two children ...BUT NOT NECESSARILY FROM THE PUBLIC PURSE!
16 hours' work per week equates to 4 hours x 5 days ....could you not shelf-stack in Asda for 5 evenings a week????0 -

LOL
I can't believe that these days, the taxpayer has to pick up the bill for everyone's childcare.
Back in the early 90's, I had to pay for childcare my my 2 children out of my salary (which wasn't a big one), it used to take half my salary to pay the childminder. I was a single parent, so not well off. My take home pay was £1 more than the limit for family credit that you could get in those days.
I would have had more money coming in if I'd stayed at home and claimed benefits like my neighbours, but I wanted to teach my children that you got nothing in this life without working for it.
Seems I was wrong?
Not having a go at you OP... it's the system that I disagree with.0 -

There are plenty of lone parents who study full time at university, work 16 hours a week and bring up a family.
You have a partner, a supportive family and are doing a one year college course; is there any wonder that people think you're being feeble?0 -

yes I do know what I'm talking about, I've been a SINGLE parent studying and working, so you have twins, big deal, there are 2 of you to share the workload, get over yourself, the world doesn't owe you a living matey.0 -
at the end of the day ,i was asking what i was entitled to ,was not expecting people to tell me what i should do ,everyone is in a different position ,i am still struggling to walk correctly as thats why i was thinking of going to college ,i just wanted to know and after some of the responses i can see why the country is today, more peoples worried about what other people get ,rather than sorting out there own issues ,i am happy to just look after the twins ,but if there was help out there for me to go to college i may have taken it up ,if not so be it !!im looking after myself and my family ,not trying to get one up on the one next door ,but thanks for all the input !!0
