I would find out what you are liable for, but it sounds like a very good survey to me and as a vendor, i wouldnt expect to have to drop the price, its valued up to the price.
No house/flat is perfect. Ithink sometimes depending on the type of house its better not to have a survey as they just cause you more concern!
I allways buy really old houses, and the surveys have allways been identical expensive bits of paper!Pawpurrs x0 -

None of the above are what I would consider to be major defects just items of routine maintenance.
New Malden? Ive a few clients that way. Spent many a happy day sat on the M25 carpark. :rotfl:
It gets better now we have people looking to negotiate when the value has been set at what they paid, incredible.
No wonder i'm ill.0 -
there's no need to dig up 5-day old posts just to criticise people (when all they're asking for is a bit of advice).
this is a fantastic forum, and i hope people continue to post money-related questions without worrying that they're going to be criticised/made to feel silly.
congratulations on the house, sarah.0 -

I'd hardly think the OP would be bothered anyway, as she has decided not to purchase this particular property due to the lease issues.I am a Mortgage Adviser

Actually no but i had to go halvers on a structural survey which cost me £115 because of 2 tiny hairline cracks in a side wall, house is 100 years old..barmy isnt it? I dont so much have a problem with buyers just surveyors there a waste of time and the surveys they do are useless. Wasn't trawling was just reading some recent posts thats all, sorry for posting...:o0 -
Dont apologise! What was the outcome of that, or dont you know yet? Its so nailbitting, putting your life in other peoples hands isnt it!
My little cottage is 1600, but most people that like it accept it for what it is, a homley little place.Pawpurrs x0 -
Not done yet, the value was ok anyway. I love cottages but id definitely renegotiate with you after survey :rotfl: xx0
