Just had a quote for House contents ect from Direct Line for £550 they have increased it every year ! Best quote was Priviledge £172 !! Guess who own Priviledge ? Yes Direct Line ! They would not budge ,said it was the computer ?? Said no thanks went with Tesco saved £300 + :T

Tesco are owned by UK Insurance who are owned by RBS... who own direct line

Some people really do post some utter tripe. Even the crappiest of insurance companies are not going to say "There's been a computer error so if you want the policy I'm afraid you'll have to pay the £550 even though it's obviously too much."0

A lot of insurance companies are owned by other ones and you can get wildly different quotes from them. They all calculate the risk factors, and therefore the premium, differently.
Its also possible Privilege gives you different terms and cover to Direct Line.0
