Santander zero Credit card, use abroad

  • Differs by country/ATM.

On occasion I've found that the fee is different depending on the card you put in - perhaps depending on whether it's a credit card or a debit card. I'm not sure, it's a while since I put a debit card into a foreign ATM.

You might want to check out your Zero communications preferences. (You can phone them, or I think it's available on their website.) When they get nervous about a transaction they have a stupid computer that will make automated calls to the number you've registered. Completely pointless if you're travelling (unless they have your mobile and you're happy to pay roaming charges). Get this service "switched off" - especially if you have family back home. It retries every couple of hours.
  • :) I have that on my other cards too...I was in India trying to pay for something and the phone started ringing after a few minutes...luckily I had switched off my voicemail before leaving the UK, I didn't answer due to the roaminng charges, I wasn't aware you could turn this off, thanks for that, i'll get that done.

thanks for prompt and good advice chattychappy :)
