without disabling Norton, some screens won't load if I have Norton activated and I'm obviously not keen on leaving my pc vulnerable to attack. I don't know whether I can allow the sites or it's just not happy with the firewall. I use Firefox but can also use Explorer.

Any advice gratefully received

I wouldn't use a PC on the net with the firewall disabled, unless you are using a router.
