Claiming back payment protection
I took out a loan for approx £5k from the AA for a 10 year period. However, I have recently paid it all off (there was still about 4 years left on it). With the loan, I had also taken out payment protection.
Now yesterday, a company rang me up (I can't remember the name), and the guy started asking me all sorts of questions such as if I have ever had a loan & if I had payment proctection with it. He said I could claim back my payment protection! I did not continue with the phone conversation for too long, since I got the impression that the guy is trying to extract info from me.
My question is - Is is really true that I can claim back my payment protection like the guy on the phone tried to explain to me? If so, how do I go about claiming the refund?
Thanks in advance for any response.

Don't pay these cowboys anything!
You can claim the balance of the PPI for free - just write to them yourself.
Just one point - did the settlement figure they gave you include a part refund of the remaining PPI?0 -
Good Morning
Many Thanks for your reply.
I have been a bit careless and have thrown away the paper work related to the loan. However, I do remember the fnal settlemet figure. Would it still be worth looking into the refund?
Thanks0 -

I can't see how it is going to be simple if you have thrown everything out though.0
