Canon 1000D ?

Hi,
I am looking at buying the Canon 1000d camera for my Photography course that I start in September.
I need it for Macro, Wildlife, Landscapes....
I would like the camera, the 18-55mm lens + 75-300mm lens aswell.

Do you know of anywhere where there doing a good deal ?

I don't want to pay more than £480.

Thanks in advance :D

You can try digitalrev.com for the lenses, but don't buy the camera as you won't get a UK warranty! Canon only do warranties in the country of origin on the camera body, but I believe the lenses have an international warranty! :D
:exclamatiTo the internet.. I need to complain about something!

There is always the Canon outlet store on ebay. It is not run by Canon itself, but I understand they only deal with one person (the vendor on ebay). Worth a look

The lenses you are looking at will be ok for genal things. At this price range you WILL be limited with your selection. The 70-300mm will be slow focus and slow at full zoom (a large f-stop), so might be a challenge for wildlife (but great for landscapes). The 18-55 kit lens (is a nice lens), will do close up, but not true macro

I only want to say this so you are not disapointed when you try these areas. Overall it is a very nice beginners kit you have selected and you will be pleased with things overall. Enjoy your course (I wish I had the time and funds to do one), and let is see some of your results

I am saving for my wildlife lens (can not decide between the £1200 f4.5 to 5.6 100-400 zoom, or the £3-4k f2.8 400mm telephoto lol). I think you will have completed your studies before I get ot :-)

  • the 70-200 lens is rather good, but out of your price range, so I'll leave that comment there!
    Friendly greeting!
