I remeber applying for something with a bank about 11 years ago and the lady there was going to great lengths to point out that they only sold their own products re insurance for mortgages, so it could be worth a try? i'm not 100% positive but I'm sure the climate at the time was for banks to have a more honest approach and be more up front about what they were selling. There had been a recession and the mis-sold endowments were beginning to come to light if I remember, mind you my memeory isn't all that good lol.
I know you don't feel as though you were hoodwinked in any way - but you were only shown a part of the story from the banks point of view and not what was best for you.
This would be my argument anyway.DMP member no 390

First of all, thanks for the response from both of you guys.I know you don't feel as though you were hoodwinked in any way - but you were only shown a part of the story from the banks point of view and not what was best for you.
This would be my argument anyway.
Yes i can't actually remember been made aware of the possibility of getting PPI from another source. But it was 6 years ago when i signed up, I can remember bits and pieces but obviously not everything from the conversation.
I suppose I can fill in the questionaire, post it off, kinda base my claim on what you've said, and then wait and see what happens.
Plus I wont be having to be disshonest.
I suppose it's worth a punt for a skint student like myself.
Thanks again.

Yes it's got to be worth a try.
I put this as one of my reasons when I sent my form off to Welcome, in fact i put everything I could think of lol.
A lot of these people might work in a bank but they are sales people as well.
Glad i could give you something to get started with.
Good luck!DMP member no 390
