Think so. I'm looking for a ski hotel in Andorra over new year & they seem very cheap. Unable to confirm availability without a credit card though & I'm not ready to take that step yet.

I used them to book a hotel in Nice 18 months ago. I felt that the state of the hotel room was not nearly as good as it was portrayed on their website. A cupboard door was hanging off, the bath was badly stained, paint was flaky on the bathroom ceiling. Therefore I contacted Hotel Club and I asked them to make a gesture. They fobbed me off by saying that they would contact the hotel, but implied that no compensation would be forthcoming from Hotel Club if none was forthcoming from the hotel.

I pointed out to them that as my contract was with Hotel Club that I cared not whether they were able to obtain any refund from the hotel, and that I would persue Hotel Club directly for a suitable gesture. After several emails, Hotel Club informed me that the hotel had offered 30% refund. I decided to accept it and my credit card was reimbursed.

It wouldn't necessarily put me off booking with them again. But it just serves to make you aware that sometimes you have to insist that you know who is responsible when things are not right.
  • I used them for a trip last month to Amsterdam - nice and easy, saved a few bob on published rates, hotel was great.

Check hotel out on Trip Advisor.com before you book though. Sometimes nearly booked some stinkers - lol

Try though tripadvisor.com - you can then see reviews etc. I always try direct with the hotel as well as they will sometimes match or beat the internet rate. No need for upfront payment then.

Also, this is an excellent site for comparison of prices on hotels:
