tv/phone/broadband whos best?

Hiya My gf is movin in and insists she needs bb ( i get by with freeview and a mobile but anyway) but anyway im gettin tv phone n bb i think virgin do the lot for 30 quid (not forgettin quidco) but can anyone beat it?

There's a choice of two - Virgin or Sky. ("BT Vision" is not really a full alternative to either)

Some people prefer Sky. Personally I prefer the menu system and guide on the Virgin box and not having the dish on the roof. Virgin cable is also not affected by weather, whereas Sky is (or used to be, when we had it).

Sky cannot compete with Virgin on the broadband, however, unless you live practically in the telephone exchange: cable doesn't have that weakness, and so if you want fast broadband, there's no decision to make.

Also bear in mind (believe this is true, someone please contradict me if not) cable is a "managed service" - should the modem or set top box pack up, they get replaced. With Sky, you own the items, and have to pay to replace them yourself if they fail. Since set top boxes are mass produced cheaply, they do fail.

ive looked at plusnet who seem excelent value but ofcourse no tv option. It seems that virgin is the way forward.
