Combined Gas and Electric from Powergen

I recently had occasion to check my bill thoroughly and discovered that I was only being given 8% discount instead of the promised 9%.

In my case it only made about 66p difference, but if Powergen's calculations are set at 1% inaccurately, think of the money they will be making from all their customers together.

I wonder how many people bother to check the discount given.

Take it you have a Monthly Direct Debit set up as well?

On a combined gas and electric account on its on you should see a 6% discount so if your not paying by MDD, then your getting an extra 2%.

On the bills themselves - If there both seperate you should see 6% on the Gas and and nothing on the electric

If its a one bill - (Energy Statement) then it should be 9%.

    Confusing it is.
  • If you have dual fuel you get 3% and if pay by monthly DD as well as should get 9%. Is your gas transporter an IGT as the discount doesn't apply to the IGT charge.
