Need info of possible funds for Adult student on benefits

Hi MSE's !
I'm single with no dependants and receiving JSA - about 10 months - age 51.
My qualifications and experience are in a young persons industry - apparantly grrrrrrrrrrrrrr- and am fed up with hearing "you're too experienced" !
So seriously thinking about retraining for an industry accredited qualification, self study, for a period of about a year. Not one of the professions that seems to have access to funds such as teaching or nursing etc.
My preferred course together with exam fees cost is about £700
Now - I have a funding problem - have none, and my credit record will probably see me being turned down by CDL (career development loan)
I've tried to make sense of the learndirect, directgov, newdeal, websites - I've tried to make sense of Adult learner grants - think I'm not eligible as its a self study/distance learning course, although the provider is based in Sussex that is on the test area list - learner support funds and am going round and round in circles . . .
Please,
is there anyone that can maybe post a webpage link that has all the info set out clearly ?
and/or
has anyone actually jumped through all the hoops and found some government/eu funding out there ?
I really would appreciate some help ??!!
In anticipation
Thanks
