On a downer - out of nowhere!

I am on a bit of a downer at the moment and just want to see if anyone else has the same problem.
I have been hacking away at my debts slowly but surely for a while now. I have signed up for pigsback and quidco, changed all my credit cards to one low LOB deal, taking up Mystery Shopping and am a lot more careful about my shopping - meal plans rule! :T :T :T
I have been really please with myself in general. So why is it that I have just heard an advert on the radio for a "shoe boutique" in the town that I work in, that I walk past most days with a passing though about the fact that it has nice shoes in it, and now I am feeling crap because I just sat here and thought that it is horrible not being able to buy myself nice shoes.
I know that I lucky in that my debts are not huge problems and I can make the payments each month but every now and then I just get bored with it all I suppose and wish I could buy myself something nice but I can't without feeling really guilty about it!
The really daft thing is that I am not even really a shoe person... I can't walk in high heels anyway!

This isnt aproblem, and from a girl who used to be 'if the shoe fits buy one in every colour' type. I now what you mean!!
As you are being very good at clearing you debt, sent yourself a target, if you pay this much off in the next 2 months you can have a treat.
Work at it sensilbly and you wont feel like your punishing yourself, and thats a bad time for credit card hitting!!
Keep up the good work :T0 -
Its good to treat yourself every now and again as a reward for being good!
Hope you feel better soon

Apparently people don't look at your feet!
Or so they say on Shawshank Redemption!
By reading your posts I'd say you've got quite sexy feet so put them on display!0 -
Hmm... not so sexy at the moment - having them sandblasted (or something) to get rid of a couple of verrucas that have come along for the ride!
Maybe I should buy myself some nice shoes once I have got nice feet again!Debt free date - June 2008 :T :T :T0 -

Beanie - I get the same feeling but not with shoes, with CD's which are my biggest weakness. And then they went and opened a massive Fopp on Tottenham Court Road where I work, I can even see it from my window..... taunting me. And Fopp can be cheap as for CDs too but I still can't afford it .....<sigh>Debt Free Nerd No. 89, LBM: April 2006, Debt at highest (Sept 05): £40,939.96

Molanole, did you know you can buy a CD from fopp and if you "dont like it" you can take it back? So you can always erm listen to iut via your PC IYKWIM and then erm take it back? xx:beer: Well aint funny how its the little things in life that mean the most? Not where you live, the car you drive or the price tag on your clothes.
Theres no dollar sign on piece of mind
This Ive come to know...
So if you agree have a drink with me, raise your glasses for a toast :beer:0 -
No point in buying a killer pair of heels if you can't afford to go out. Which is what would happened if you stopped paying your debts off.
However budgeting is all about balance - save up for the shoes and in 6 weeks time go and buy a pair.
In the meantime focus on the fab job you are doing - slashing those debts down!!
Well Done :T0 -
