Apple help please

I have an apple tree in my garden and its got loads of apples on it. However, how will i know when they are ok to eat?

I have cut one up and have noticed that the pips are white - should i wait until they go black?

There is a phenomenal called 'wrongly' the June drop. Mine always occurs in July!!
When a lot of apples are 'discarded ' by the tree. Nothing wrong.
  • So how do you know when they are ready??? :o

thanks for the replies. The apples do seem to come off in my hand quite easily.

the apples are green and i have eaten one and it seemed ok but then again, i love sour apples. I shall post a pic of the tree and apple/inside apple shortly

Some apples improve with keeping, but if yours come easily off the tree now I guess they are a really early variety, and these rarely improve with storing

I have an early unknown variety, [thanks Keydell Nursery, should've been Golden Delicious], it is lovely for a few days, then goes over quite quickly

Not ready yet though, so OPs must be a very early one
