2 for 1 P&O minicruises

  • Has anyone actually been on the Bilbao minicruise?

We ducked out of the current crossing - Oct 25-28 - because it was already predicted to leave late - 04.15 on the Thursday morning instead of 21.15 Wednesday. Apart from this, the weather reports for the Bay of Biscay for the next 72 hours were atrocious!

P&O wouldn't authorise refund. They said we could pay to change the booking but it had to be done there and then. I didn't have time to reorganise our group in that timescale so we lost the £180. The travel insurance would not pay out either - that kicks in after 12 hours delay.

Curious to know if we made the right decision especially from someone on that particular crossing.

My husband and I are going in a fortnight to Amsterdam (he doesn't know though, its a surprise for his birthday) and I can't wait.
It's cost us 105 for Friday / Saturday nights Hull - Rotterdam.
But after looking on there again yesterday I have discovered that if we go on a Monday in December it will only cost us 98.00 for the same trip WITH our 4 children. 2 cabins and still less than 100 quid for 6 of us, looks like we'll be going again in December hehe

Thanks for this post, its brilliant!

    Has anyone already been?

Does anybody know if P & O do these cheap deals every year, or is this just a one off??

Yesterday I booked on the Portsmouth to Bilbao 2-for-1 minicruise scheduled for tomorrow 9th March. Today they phoned me to say the weather was too rough to sail therefore it was all off!

Got the option of money back or can take same 2-for-1 offer (expires end March) anytime up to end June. I was disappointed but they can't control the weather and overall not too bad service I thought.

I have just booked for October 2008 with www.globaltraveldeals.co.uk - you have to ring to book.

They have all the details on their website (look under summer minicruises)

I am also looking at going to Bruges in December but staying in a Hotel. they are sending me Hotel prices & have some 3 night for the price of 2 offers on.
