LloydsTSB Faster Payments down this morning?

I've been trying to send an FP to an account I've successfully sent FPs to before but am getting the odd message 'This payment will reach the recipient's account the next working day'.

Now, that isn't FPS, as it would tell me it was going immediately. And it isn't BACS, the usual alternative, as then it would warn me it would take 'up to four working days' or similar wording.

Might it just be that the 'next working day' is actually after the banks open today?

    Working OK for me
I think the only time I've had that sort of message id FPing to Egg -where it always takes longer, particularly out of hours.

Somewhat bizarre: it only seems to apply to this particular payee, the others have the usual message about being received in 2 hours.

But it has sent to this one in the usual way on previous occasions. And when I did press 'send' just now, I got the usual 'FP clock', even though the message afterwards still said that it would 'usually reach the recipient's account the next working day'.

    Ah well.

That sounds to be Lloyds relaying the message back from the payee Bank - rather than a problem at the Lloyds end?

is it a new payee? I imagine this is because they want to hold the payment in case your account has been compromised.

I was told this is due to the new online banking that still has a few bugs! I made a transaction using the quick transfers option to my partner (she is also Lloyds) and it took a day to process. I called them to ask why it was now taking a day rather than instant as normal and they said it was because of the new online banking.

I'm assuming you've been switched over to the new site?

Most work fine for me too, it was just my partner that I was having these issues with. It doesn't affect every payment.

That's strange, I made a transfer to my partner's account on 27 July (both of us are on the new LTSB system) and it was immediate.

The payment that started this thread did actually arrive the same day, as it always had done before, so I'll ignore that particular wording if it crops up again!
