What's all this MOT thing ?0

Someone at work knows someone locally who does dodgy MOT's without seeing the car. They were going to get one for their banger but only it gave up the ghost and had to be scrapped shortly before it was due.
I'm not interested in fake MOT's. I'd rather know if my car was safe to drive or not.0 -
Yes I can OP.
Ford Mondeo 2.5 V6 on a 2000 plate
MOT cost £35 (Valued customer/existing customer discount) PASSED without any faults or defects apart from ABS light on, plugged into my hand held computer = FREE
Total cost of MOT with car showing 99.000 miles = £35 for 12 Months

Ring VOSA, inform them of the garage and they will carry out a number of 'Test Cars/MOT's'
Save someones life, cars can appear fine, fine, pull right and brake hard but it DOES NOT mean they are safe in and shape or form.
I once test drove a little Ford KA, later to my disbelief upon taking it for an MOT, it was later discovered it had a major brake leak (even though no change in brake affectness) Hand brake was loose, Shocks all over were leaking oil and repaired accident damage wasn't done to test standard!
