trying too get a mortgage with a ccj and repo order..

Options
Hello everyone,

myself and my future wife are thinking about getting a house together, but as the title says i have 2 ccjs and i got a house reposesed last year.. however my future wife has a good credit history.
The repossesion on my house last year is a bit complex, the day after the judge took my house off me, my aunty paid the mortgage company in full... i bought the house off my parents as a investment for half its value as my parents where in deep poo.....now that part has been settled the deeds have been put back into my parents name.

I was told that because i managed too get the dept paid off in full with in 14days it wont appear on any credit searchs, would this be correct?.... i have paid for a equifax credit report and it hasnt appeared on their, but does this mean it wont show on any other searchs the lenders might use?......

my house was repossessed cause i was unlucky enough to be on the dole for the most of last year, iam in full time employment now with a view to be getting a contract off the company im working before christmas... would it be advised to wait till i get a contract?...

so with all the above took into account... any advice or wisdom would be appreciated... would that fact my future wife has a good credit history give us a better chance of getting a mortgage??..

any more info required to help access just ask, im cool with giving out as much info as ness...

cheers stevie..

  • Wait for the ccjs to hit 6 years.

Boost your deposit while waiting, it might need to be substantial if it turns out there is some vague trace of the repossession.
Act in haste, repent at leisure.

cloudcukooland, what do you think the chances are that it could be right about they been no trace on my credit history cause i mananged to get the mortgage settled within 14 days of the repossession order been granted been correct?
I`ve just looked again at my equifax file and i cant see any sign of the repossession on their at all...only my 2 ccj`s which one is coming to its 6years this year,... and the other in 2013... surley if i could get a mortgage in 2008 for my parents house with 2 ccj`s on my own,and me been a contractor, me and my wife to be would stand a greater chance of getting a mortgage later this year/early next year with me having a full time job, only one ccj active ..... providing they is no evidence on my history of the repossession... would i be beating along the right track?...

Equifax isn't the only company providing credit reports - see here. Check the other to see if anything related to the repossession is on them.

What deposit do you have saved, and what value of house are you looking at? Would your wife's salary alone be enough to get the mortgage you need? With no contract and CCJs I can't see a way for you to be on the mortgage.

Nationalhunters will have a repossession logged in the system.

You have a temporary contract position , you are not in full time employment. There is a material distinction.

You have too many things against you at the moment; CCJ's, possibly traces of the repo on your files, and a job that isn't permanent.

A few years ago things were different, now lending institutions are ultra-cautious and I'm afraid the word 'bargepole' comes to mind.
