Hiya
We're thinking of going to Lapland the first week of December. Basically we want to go for as long as possible for as little as possible!
Has anyone got any tips on who to go with?
Thanks in advance!

Yes, 8 years ago.:D It is a beautiful place.
Google the place an find tourist information. It often shows you hotels and the like. Then pick your tour operators brains.£2 Coins Savings Club 2012 is £4.............................NCFC member No: 00005.........

I've been several times on cold climate trips testing cars. Lapland is a large area and Rovanemi (probably spelt wrong) is a local airport by father xmas' pad. I dont think u need to use an inflated price tour operator. You can book a flight, hotel, car hire etc all seperate. You can fly to the south and catch a train or coach also. Things to do after farther xmas is seeing various ice villages/sculptures, ski-dooing (jet-ski on ice), husky sledge ride etc. Why not look for the tourist info number and give them a call to get ideas and where to book etc. Use the call checker on MSE at 1p per minute. They are bound to speak english. Good luck!Cash ISA rate 6.5% fixed for 2 years. Mortgage rate 0.75% = 5.75% profit on £75K = £4500 per year:j

I've been both last year and the year before. I found the cheapest way to book was to book a skiing holiday with Inghams and then book excursions on arrival. The first time I went was for 7 nights and the second time was for 8 nights, because is was over Xmas and they didn't fly anyone back on xmas day.
We are a family of 2 adults and 2 children and did some kind of activity every day eg. 3 days ski school, skidoos, santa trip, huskie rides and reindeer sledge. We estimate that the activities cost on average £100 per day for the 4 of us, sometimes a little more sometimes a little less.
Depending on how desperate you are to go this year you could hang on till the last minute when Inghams tend to sell off any unsold holidays for considerably reduced prices. I have bought mine on lastminute.com.
Enjoy it - it's the most fab holiday we have ever been on.0 -
