You've got funds; paypal

Someone just sent me £1 via paypal randomly?

I just got an email titled "you've got funds" in which someone sent me £1 - its someone I have sold something to on ebay before. I checked all the links in the email and they do link to the paypal site not paypal.dodgyrussianurl.com, it's all very strange?!

Yep I've logged into paypal "manually" and it shows up and its defin the same person that I sold something to a few months ago.

Strange thing is now it says they have no address on file for the person, I'm wondering if someones hacked his account or something? Hopefully its not some attempt to get me (somehow?!)

There are instances of emails entitled "you've got funds" apparently but they all link to dodgy sites whereas this is legit.

I've removed all my bank details etc anyway just to be safe for a while, I'll give him a few days and then email him if I don't hear anything, I don't want his 75p!

A review of recent transactions indicates that you might have received a
payment that the PayPal account holder did not authorise.
Your buyer asked his or her bank to reverse the payment for the following transaction

Looks like it was dodgy after all, poor dude probably had their account hacked
  • Speaking of people who have hadtheir accounts hacked? Interesting first post in 6 months!

Aruna that is a very common pyramid or chain letter style spam mail it is nothing at all to do with paypal or hacking and nothing ta all to do with the original points raised on this thread, just delete it and if you know the person who sent it to you tell them not to be so stupid in future.
