We got told to cater for 100% of guests!!

    We have invited around 120.

I reckon we will have around 80 people, so that's what we are catering for which works out at 75%.

We're having bacon and sausage baps at midnight though (bar closes at 1am) so they will help soak up the alcohol lol

I've also been told to cater for 100% by the 'new' co-ordinator, I explained about the 'norm' of only catering for 70/80% but he said no they cater for 100% and there is always food left over. :p

83 of our guest will have eaten the wedding breakfast, we will have a total of 130 guest for the evening so was thinking I didn't need to order extra but he's saying we do :(

This is what annoys me. If there is always food left over, what is the point in wasting money and over catering? Idiot he is!

I'd say you were going to cater for X amount and that is final.

What are they playing at changing things 8 weeks before the bloody day?

Trouble is, if you only order food for 50%, you'll only get enough plates etc for 50% ;)

Course you would, but someone would have to be dense to cater for half of their guests ;)

  • we have been advised to cater for 60% of the guests for the evening buffet. Now i reckon we should only cater for 50% and here is why.... we are having a chocolate fountain which will be running for 3 hours.. we are also having the wedding cake served up with the evening buffet... so if the venue USUALLY recommend 60% WITHOUT those extras, surely 50% would be okay. But will probably go for 60% in the end cos i am a wuss!! :o
Baldrick, does it have to be this way? Our valued friendship ending with me cutting you up into strips and telling the prince that you walked over a very sharp cattle grid in an extremely heavy hat?

were catering for 70%-80% of our guests because we are having a sit down meal in the day so not everyone will be hungry it will mainly be for the reception guests, plus we are having a chocolate fountain so with that aswel we dont really want too much food going to waste x

    That's what I thought, I think the wedding co-ordinator hasn't got a clue! :o
