Using up shampoo

Any tips for using up shampoo? A new type I tried leaves my hair very greasy no matter how much rinsing!! Loathe to just throw it out, any practical household ways of using it up??

Thanks

I'd just use it as shower gel.

I think I read on the Fly Lady site that she used left over shampoo that didn't agree with her hair as loo cleaner! She put it in the bottom of the loo brush holder and so when you use the loo brush the brush is soapy. Don't know how hygenic this is though! :D

Or decant it into an empty pump action bottle and use it as handwash. You might want to dilute it a bit with water too.

    Bubble bath
Fill up a dispenser hand pump thingy and use it for hand soap.

  • You could also use to it give all your make-up brushes a good clean - shampoo is great for this. Just make sure you rinse them well and leave them to dry naturally.

    Thanks

like queenie i use a squirt of shampoo in the bath, saves buying bubble bath
  • Use it to clean the bath and wash basin, makes the bathroom smell really nice.

I'm sure I've read recently that you have to be a bit careful when mixing different shampoos etc, as some have different chemicals than others so you may end up with something that reacts badly on your skin, I have done it in the past but am now having second thoughts. I don't know if anyone else can confirm this?

Shampoo is great for rubbing into collars and cuffs of shirts etc before washing them
I got this idea from the American Queen of Clean book!
