I'm a landlord abroad worried about home insurance

Hi, I'm letting my lovely, fully furnished property via a letting agent,. I've just informed my lender I am letting after 2 years doing it privately. Now I'm concerned my flat will burn down or my unknown tenants will wreck my stuff and I have no insurance. Any ideas on who to go to for this and how much roughly it will cost?? Thanks!

The cost will be related to the value of your building and contents, so it's impossible for anyone to say.

Normal home insurance can be anything from £100 - £700 or even more depending on values and what options you go for (legal cover, bicycles, accidental damage, personal possesions etc.)

Insruance for landlords is more expensive as people don't tend to take as good care of someone else's place.

Bit of a misconception it costs more fo rlandlords or property owners insurance a slot depends on the risk.

Post code and type of tennant ie proffessional/student/dss play a major factor in underwriting the risk and if the insurer likes these 2 answer theres no reason for the insurance to cost much if any more than a standard house insurance.

Best advice would be to speak to a local broker
