I will also need up to date balances from all my creditors but im sure i can squeeze that into the letter.

If you want to play for more time then don't get it on the same letter, leave the request for an up to date balance until later. It strings the process out a bit longer and buys you more time to job hunt without there being a dead silence between you and them (dead silences are not good).
I refuse to be afraid of the big bad wolf, spiders, or debt collection agencies; one of them's not real and the other two are powerless without my fear.
(Ok, one of them is powerless, spiders can be nasty.)

As of the last count I have cleared
    [STRIKE]23.16%[/STRIKE] 22.49% of my debt. :(

Also if you post it after last collection on Thursday, they won't get it till Saturday. They'll probably respond by the end of the week, then you do the same the week after. It gives you 2/3 weeks breathing space. I've had to do that many a time, and you get it down to a fine art in the end;)
  • Ok, my only issue is I do not know whether the debts are with my original creditors or debt management companies. if I forward this letter to my original creditors, surely they will reply as to who the debt now lies with?

    Many Thanks
