Has any one ever had success claiming miss sold PPI from the Insurance company, as my large loan with PPI of over £10,000 was through Personal Loan (GE Money) as settled pre-2005 not covered by FOS.
I was not advised anything about this policy only not optional it was over £10k PPI and only 60 months but a 120 month loan.
Have complained with Pinnacle and now with FOS but have advised them that they have a duty to ensure all brokers working on there behalf are trained to sell there product.
I was just wondering anyone ever been successful claiming against Insurance company.

Yes I actually claimed against cardiff pinnacle in may, it was regarding mis informing me rather than misselling ppi, I hadnt realised that the ppi wasnt cancelled when loan was paid off, so it was still live, I had no corresspondance from them over last five years so again didnt realise it was still live. I know someone may say thats how they work but if you arnt clued up like alot of people are now you dont realise these things, anyway they back dated the refund to 2006 for me which was a nice sum, even tho they had been accruing interest on this. If you need any more advise on mine pls ask x and good luck.;)

Thanks moodypeg l never was informed anything about policy and did receive until 4 weeks after loan commenced so could not cancel, when l paid large secured loan off within 19 months l only got a small refund and had been charged over £10k single premium policy PPI. How stupid was l, but they emphasis all blame on broker who was originally The Personal Loan Express who are now insolvent but it was actually GE Money who sold PPI on behalf of Pinnacle and as they were not regulated in 2004 l can not go to FOS about them but Cardiff Pinnacle was and l believe if it is there responsibility to ensure if someone is selling a product on there behalf they are trained and selling what is best for you, and they should have a duty of care to contact all potential policy holders to ensure they need and require the policy before implemented. This is now with FOS., fingers crossed but l have not found one thread that anyone has managed to reclaim PPI against Insurance company.:)
