Hi
I'm new here, well I've been lurking for a while.
I recently moved to a new house in North London and the front window need replacing (2 x 7 bay windows 1 x casement).
I've contacted a few companies for quotes (including national one) and for the same job I've received different figures:
National Co. 1 = £ 9,700 (B grade)
National Co. 2 = £ 17,500 (A grade)
Local Co. = £ 8,600 (A grade)
Not Local Co. = £ 7,700 (B grade)
My question is are the above quotes (don't count the National Co.) decent considering that the bay window are a difficult job and that the fan lights will replicate the original lead design.
I've checked the neighbours and is a 50/50 between the national Co. 1 and 2.
Local Co. supply and fit Komerling frame (pretty decent look).
Thanks
V

Hi,
The sheer difference in pricing makes me suspect the National Co. 2 are taking you for a ride, where as all others are within a few grand of each other.
I would go back to National Co. 2 and ask them why their price is higher and report back to us.
Just because they are national doesn't mean they are legitimate - remember most salesmen work on commission so they will obviousely quote the highest price initially.Hi, we’ve had to remove your signature.
